Terms of Service
The rules of the road — kept simple.

Accepting these terms
By using Good Yakka, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, that’s fine — but you won’t be able to use the platform. We’ve tried to keep this as plain as possible.
What Good Yakka does
Good Yakka is a platform that connects farmers looking for seasonal workers with people looking for farm work. We provide the tools for posting jobs, creating profiles, browsing listings, and managing applications. We are not an employer, employment agency, or labour hire company. We’re the platform — the connection between the two sides.
Your account
You need an account to use most features. You’re responsible for keeping your login details secure. If someone else uses your account, that’s on you — so pick a good password and don’t share it. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
All information you provide must be accurate and up to date. If we find out you’ve provided false information, we may suspend or close your account.
For workers
Using Good Yakka as a worker is free. You can create a profile, browse jobs, apply, and build your Digital CV at no cost. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to work in Australia (valid visa, work rights, etc.).
For farmers
Posting a job on Good Yakka costs $49 AUD per listing. Payment is due at the time of posting; all prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Your listing stays live for up to six months from the day it’s published, or until you fill the job or take it down — whichever comes first. You can pause and resume it any time within that six-month window. When the window ends, the listing comes down automatically; if you still need workers, you can post it again as a new listing.
You’re responsible for complying with all Australian employment laws, including fair pay, working conditions, and workplace safety. Good Yakka is not responsible for the employment relationship between you and any worker.
Reviews
Both workers and farmers can leave reviews. Reviews must be honest, fair, and based on genuine experience. We don’t edit reviews, but we reserve the right to remove content that is defamatory, abusive, contains personal information, or is clearly fake.
Your review history is visible on your public profile. A strong track record builds credibility and helps farmers and workers make better decisions about who to work with.
What you can’t do
Don’t use Good Yakka to:
- Post false, misleading, or deceptive listings or profiles
- Harass, abuse, or discriminate against other users
- Spam, scrape, or use automated tools on the platform
- Circumvent the platform to avoid paying fees
- Post jobs that violate Australian employment law
- Impersonate someone else
We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
Refunds
Listing fees are non-refundable — your $49 covers the listing being live for up to six months, and we can’t promise applications or hires will follow. That said, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always come first: if the law entitles you to a refund or another remedy, we’ll honour it.
Our liability
Good Yakka is a platform. We connect farmers and workers, but we’re not the employer, an employment agency, or a party to any work arrangement made through the site. Hiring decisions, work arrangements, pay, and everything that flows from them sit between the farmer and the worker. Farmers are responsible for their legal obligations when they hire; workers are responsible for their own work decisions and work rights.
We genuinely care about keeping Good Yakka a trustworthy place. Reviews can only be left after a job is completed through the platform, and we remove content that’s fake, abusive, or misleading when we find it. But we can’t be on every farm or check every detail — so please use your own judgement when deciding who to work with.
With that in mind, to the maximum extent the law allows, we’re not liable for loss or damage arising from the conduct of any user, any work arrangement, working conditions, pay disputes, injury, or anything that happens off the platform. Where the law doesn’t let us exclude liability — including under the Australian Consumer Law — it’s limited, where the law permits, to resupplying the service or refunding what you paid for the listing involved.
We do our best to keep the platform running smoothly, but we can’t guarantee it’ll be available 100% of the time. Downtime happens.
Intellectual property
The Good Yakka brand, design, and platform are ours. Content you post (profiles, listings, reviews) remains yours, but you give us permission to display it on the platform. Don’t copy, reproduce, or rip off our stuff without permission.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll let you know. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Victoria. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
